Bullfighting once swept across Spain, filling arenas to capacity. Yet with the rise of animal welfare movements, this culture gradually faded, leaving venues like this one to decay and fade into the dust of time. Located in southern Madrid, this bullring similarly witnessed its journey from glory to silence. Today, despite the vibrant economic and industrial innovation in the surrounding area, there remains a lack of physical spaces that genuinely foster the free flow of knowledge and interdisciplinary dialogue. Thus, this abandoned bullring has been given new life through a comprehensive transformation involving REbirth, REnaturalising, and REqualifying. This is far more than mere architectural renovation; it is a manifesto for urban connectivity. It will stitch together the surrounding urban fabric and community boundaries, transforming the closed arena into an open incubator of knowledge, cultivating fertile ground for sustained dialogue among all.
